Kindergarten Enrollment

Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2021-22 school year. Please visit the registration page for more information.

Online enrollment is encouraged, but in-person dates at the Admin Building will be available for those who need to complete a residency affidavit or who are unable to upload the required documents through the online process. Please visit the registration page for more information.

No in-person appointments will be held at the elementary buildings for Kindergarten registration but parents should still contact their school to let them know they completed the initial application as directed.

The Francis Howell School District offers rich kindergarten programs for children beginning at age five. The FHSD Kindergarten program emphasizes meeting the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of young children. Readiness skills in language arts, reading, math, music, visual arts, social studies, science, physical education, and health are introduced and taught in a child-centered environment. Children learn to interact and cooperate with one another and gain self-confidence to be successful learners.

Registration Requirements
In compliance with Missouri laws, children must be five years of age before Aug. 1 to enroll in kindergarten. No early assessments will be administered. It is very important that all children be registered prior to entering kindergarten in August. A checklist is available of all required information that you will need to register your child for kindergarten.

Developmental Screening
FHSD recommends that all children be screened after age 3 and prior to entering kindergarten. To make an appointment for your child’s Developmental Screening, please call 636-851-6060.
