FHSD Celebrates School Principals’ Day March 4

On March 4, 2015, the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) will celebrate National School Principals’ Day, recognizing the leadership and dedication of principals, assistant principals, and other administrators who help guide the instruction, and instructors, of our most precious resource – our students. School Breakfast Week

Children who eat breakfast at school start the day ready to learn—reflected in higher test scores and better classroom behavior. However, only half of the children who eat lunch at school also eat school breakfast, according to the Food Research and Action Council. Francis Howell School District (FHSD) will recognize National School Breakfast Week March 2-6, 2015. National School Breakfast Week is a weeklong celebration aimed at increasing awareness of the School Breakfast Program among students and parents.   READ MORE...
STEM Recognition Week

Join the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) in celebration of STEM Week – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. FHSD along with hundreds of schools in the nation will honor STEM week in an effort to bring public awareness to STEM in education, March 2 - 6, 2015. The empires of the future are the empires of the mind. Those famous words epitomize the theme of the Winston Churchill Speech Competition. Middle school students from around the state, along with some outside contestants this year, are competing for a prize that reminds us that not all trophies are won with leg and arm muscles. Some trophies are won with the mind. Riley Lawson and Ali Zolman, Francis Howell District (FHSD) students, represented the St. Louis Metro region at the state final competition on Feb. 22 at the National Churchill Museum.  READ MORE...
Rampage raises the winners' hands

Get out and play. The St. Louis Rams have a program called Play 60, a National Football League-wide initiative to get kids to do just that. Their Play 60 Game Show Assembly program and their interactive Play 60 Bus – the first of its kind in the NFL – visited Harvest Ridge Elementary in the Francis Howell School District (FHSD) to tackle the health problems associated with inactivity.  READ MORE...
