Dr. Suzanne Leake has been named as the Interim Principal at Francis Howell Central High School (FHC) for the 2022-2023 school year. FHC’s current principal, Dr. Sonny Arnel, announced his retirement earlier this year.

Dr. Leake currently serves as the principal at Bryan Middle School. Prior to joining the FHSD team, Suzanne served as the associate principal at Hazelwood West High School for seven years, and served three years as an assistant principal.

Leake taught physical education and health for eight years in the Hazelwood and Ferguson-Florissant School Districts before becoming an administrator. She started her educational career here in the District teaching at Hollenbeck Middle School 23 years ago. She says she is thrilled to have this opportunity at FHC as a way to give back to the community.

“I am excited to be joining the FHC family,” Leake said. “I look forward to building strong relationships with parents, students and the community. I am committed to ensuring that every student receives the very best education possible, and that all students and their families realize they are an important part of our success. I look forward to getting to know each of you and joining the Spartan Family!”

Leake earned a master’s degree in Education Administration at Lindenwood University. In 2012, she earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Maryville University and completed certification with the National Institute for School Leadership in 2014.
