IT Professionals Day - Sept. 17

Information Technology (IT) professionals provide essential support to keep FHSD up and running. They ensure all of the District’s desktops, laptops, mobile devices, applications, servers, networks, and databases work and work well together. The Technology Department equips teachers, students, and administrators with digital resources to enhance delivery and improve instruction. They also teach students how to use technology to enhance their personal and family life. To help say thanks, FHSD observes IT Professionals Day on Sept. 17.

“FHSD has a variety of technology staff, including building techs, IT Help Desk, network engineers, software specialists, administrative assistants, and data processing professionals,” said Director of Technology Rich Wilson. “Our hard-working staff provide essential support to make sure that desktops, laptops, servers, networking, phone systems, and devices are operating as best as possible on a daily basis.”

In FHSD, IT professionals manage over 27,000 desktops, laptops, and tablets, 1,200 projectors, almost 1,200 SMART boards and TVs, 2,050 telephone handsets, 57 District servers, and 35 software and database systems. To help manage these systems, 13 District technicians support staff and students. In fact, you couldn’t read this digital story today without the work of our FHSD IT professionals!
