Howell of Fame Awards

 Howell of Fame Logo

Established in 1987, the Howell of Fame awards recognize members of the Francis Howell community who have made significant contributions to the District. The award is one of the District’s highest and most prestigious honors, and is designed to recognize volunteers who go above and beyond to serve in our schools and/or facilities. FHSD staff are also eligible for the award if they have contributed to their school or the District beyond their regular job responsibilities..

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

VOLUNTEERS - Parent volunteers, community volunteers, PTO members, volunteer coaches, Great by 8 volunteers, event volunteers (grad nights, Christmas with Santa, etc.), Booster Club volunteers, Parent Club leaders, etc.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS – Area businesses, nonprofits, or organizations that routinely contribute to the Francis Howell School District, its schools, its staff, and/or its students.

FHSD EMPLOYEES – Employees who volunteer their time outside of the classroom and/or building are eligible for a Howell of Fame award, as are those who go "above and beyond" the expectations of their job responsibilities.

Past Howell of Fame winners are not eligible to win again. To view a list of past winners, please visit fhsdschools.org/howelloffame.

AWARD SELECTION

Winners are selected by the Howell of Fame Committee based on the information provided in the nomination form, thus, care should be taken to accurately describe the nominee's contributions. Strong nominations will include the following:

  • Specific, measurable ways the nominee has made a positive impact in the District. Quantify where possible; include number of individuals impacted, number of hours invested, dollars raised, etc.
  • Descriptive examples that show how the nominee's efforts bettered the lives of students and/or staff in the District, supported a District initiative, and/or improved the District in some other fashion.
  • If nominating a current staff member, the nomination form will make clear the ways in which the staff member volunteered time outside of their normal job responsibilities and/or went above and beyond the call of duty to support the District and its students and staff.
