Social Media Guide for Parents

Description: This presentation will focus on the current trends in Social Media and how our kids are using it. Come learn about all the apps the kids are using and the ones they should avoid. You’ll leave with new awareness of how social media is changing their definitions of friendship, education and self-worth. Julie’s presentations are fast, informative and entertaining…you’ll be very glad you came. Presenter, Julie Smith, is a professor and author of “Master the Media” and has presented all over the country on this topic.

Building Assets in Youth

Description:This presentation will focus on the research from Search Institute that identifies 40 assets that help children become socially and mentally prepared for life. These assets range from having a positive peer group to managing time wisely. The presentation will also focus on the importance of these assets and how parents can help build these assets in their children.
