| FHHS and FHN Receive 2013 First Amendment Press Freedom Award Posted on 02/28/2013 The Francis Howell High School (FHHS) and Francis Howell North (FHN) High School journalism programs have been selected to receive the 2013 First Amendment Press Freedom Award (FAPFA). They are two of only four schools in the country to receive the honor. The awards will be presented during the opening keynote session of the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association (JEA/NSPA) convention in San Francisco on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

 | FHC Senior Named Missouri State Journalist of the Year Posted on 02/27/2013 Kelci Davis, senior at Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School, was recently announced as the Missouri State Journalist of the Year with a surprise ceremony during her second hour class on Monday, February 25. Davis is the first student in FHC history to win the award conferred by the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA).

| Three FHSD Students Selected as National Merit Finalists Posted on 02/26/2013 Madeline Wilson and Amy Sweeney, seniors at Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School, and Smitha Milli, senior at Francis Howell North (FHN) High School, are three of 15,000 applicants that have been selected as National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), a not-for-profit organization that conducts the National Merit Scholarship Program and the National Achievement Scholarship Program, which are annual competitions for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships.

This year $1,881.85 was raised for the American Cancer Society in honor of a retired FHN teacher and coach who was diagnosed with cancer.
