FHHS and FHN Receive 2013 First Amendment Press Freedom Award

The Francis Howell High School (FHHS) and Francis Howell North (FHN) High School journalism programs have been selected to receive the 2013 First Amendment Press Freedom Award (FAPFA). They are two of only four schools in the country to receive the honor. The awards will be presented during the opening keynote session of the Journalism Education Association/National Scholastic Press Association (JEA/NSPA) convention in San Francisco on Thursday, April 25, 2013.  more

FHC Senior Named Missouri State Journalist of the Year

Kelci Davis, senior at Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School, was recently announced as the Missouri State Journalist of the Year with a surprise ceremony during her second hour class on Monday, February 25. Davis is the first student in FHC history to win the award conferred by the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA).   more

The Board of Education has approved Andy Downs as principal of Francis Howell North High School, to replace Dr. Darlene Jones, who is retiring at the end of the 2012-13 school year. Mr. Downs will begin his duties on July 1, 2013.  more
Three FHSD Students Selected as National Merit Finalists

Madeline Wilson and Amy Sweeney, seniors at Francis Howell Central (FHC) High School, and Smitha Milli, senior at Francis Howell North (FHN) High School, are three of 15,000 applicants that have been selected as National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), a not-for-profit organization that conducts the National Merit Scholarship Program and the National Achievement Scholarship Program, which are annual competitions for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships.   more

Winter Warehouse at Harvest Ridge Elementary Helps Hurricane Sandy Victims

Student council students at Harvest Ridge Elementary raised $1,800 in an organized fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy victims from December 3 – 7, 2012. All funds raised were donated to the St. Charles County Red Cross for distribution to hurricane victims.   more

Independence Elementary is one of fifteen schools in the State of Missouri that has been recognized as a 2013 Missouri School of Character administered by the Character Education Partnership (CEP). FHN Basketball Teams Raise Over $1,800 at Pink Ribbon Night

On January 29, the Francis Howell North (FHN) High School junior varsity and varsity boys and girls basketball teams recently hosted their annual Pink Ribbon Night event. This year $1,881.85 was raised for the American Cancer Society in honor of a retired FHN teacher and coach who was diagnosed with cancer.   more

The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) would like to thank all Parent Teacher Organizations (PTO) and Parent Club groups for their contributions and donations during the first semester of the 2012-13 school year. Collectively, FHSD PTO and Parent Club groups donated various items to FHSD schools valued at $19,020, which have been used to continually promote and provide assistance to quality educational programs in our schools.   more
