 | FHSD Celebrates School Bus Driver Day Posted on 04/28/2020 In honor of School Bus Driver Day, FHSD would like to celebrate our valuable employees who safely transport our students to and from school each day.  | Voting in FHSD June 2 – COVID Considerations Posted on 04/27/2020 In March, Governor Parson signed an Executive Order requiring all Missouri municipal elections scheduled for April 7 to be postponed until June 2, 2020. This order includes Proposition S, the Francis Howell no tax rate increase bond issue, and the FHSD Board of Education candidate election. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the St. Charles County Election Authority is anticipating increased participation in absentee voting ahead of the June 2 election.

 | Two FHSD Students Achieve Perfect ACT Scores Posted on 04/27/2020 To many, the number 36 doesn’t carry any special significance. But for two high school students in FHSD, this number represents perfection. Junior Natalie Althof of Francis Howell High School and senior Eric Peasel of Francis Howell Central High School, have both achieved a perfect score of 36 on the ACT.

 | U.S. News Ranks FHSD High Schools among the Best in Missouri Posted on 04/23/2020 The 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best High School Rankings include all three FHSD high schools on the prestigious list. The rankings evaluated almost 600 public high schools in Missouri and reviewed more than 24,000 nationwide to identify schools that best serve all of their students and assess the degree to which students are prepared for college-level coursework.

 | FHN Senior Emily Hood Named the 2020 JEA National High School Student Journalist of the Year Posted on 04/23/2020 On Feb. 24, FHN senior Emily Hood walked into her journalism classroom to find a room full of students, teachers, and Superintendent Dr. Hendricks-Harris, all gathered together to celebrate her big achievement. She had just been named the 2020 Journalism Education Association (JEA) Student Journalist of the Year for Missouri. Two months later, on Apr. 18, many of those same individuals gathered again (virtually) to witness their FHNtodayTV executive producer recognized across the country as the 2020 National High School Student Journalist of the Year on the JEA’s Facebook Live platform. The FHN journalist was also profiled in a story on KTVI-TV.

 | Dr. Jessica Karll Selected as New Central Elementary Principal Posted on 04/17/2020 The Francis Howell School District has announced that Dr. Jessica Karll has been selected as the new principal at Central Elementary School, effective July 1, 2020. Dr. Karll is currently the assistant principal at McKelvey Elementary School in the Parkway School District. She succeeds Principal Stacey King, who had announced her retirement after the current school year.

 | Lisa Bohrmann Selected as Principal of Henderson Elementary Posted on 04/17/2020 The Francis Howell School District has selected Lisa Bohrmann to serve as the principal of Henderson Elementary School, effective July 1, 2020. Bohrmann has served as the assistant principal at Henderson since 2015 and will succeed current Principal Dr. Jennette Barker, who is retiring after the current school year.

She succeeds Chief Communications and Community Relations officer Matt Deichmann, who has announced his retirement after the current school year.

 | Early College Program Posted on 04/16/2020 Are you planning to attend college after high school? Are you ready to start earning college credits now? Students from all three FHSD high schools have the ability to earn up to a full associates degree from Saint Charles Community College before high school graduation. Through the FHSD Early College Program, high school students pay a discounted rate of $50 per credit hour and take SCC classes that count for both high school and college credit.

 | Finding Harmony while in Isolation Posted on 04/16/2020 As we all adjust to a new version of daily life, one thing remains constant and strong – our FHSD community. FHC seniors Emma Smallen and Lauren Marino started a fundraiser to support students in need who may have been additionally impacted by the pandemic. These musicians used their talents and organized a virtual charity concert to raise money for the FHSD Backpack Meal Assistance Program, which distributes meals to students and families.

 | FHSD Closure Extended Through the Remainder of the Year Posted on 04/09/2020 As a result of Governor Parson’s directive, Francis Howell and all Missouri school districts will be closed for the remainder of the school year. Our health officials and superintendents agree this is necessary to protect the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community, and to minimize the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This closure includes all FHSD schools, preschool, and Vacation Station. All athletic events and activities are canceled for the remainder of the school year, and facilities, fields, and playgrounds will not be available until further notice. We are not anticipating holding our traditional summer school and summer camps. Further communication will be provided about summer programming adjustments.

 | April 7 – Not Election Day! Posted on 04/07/2020 Today, April 7, was scheduled to be the April Municipal Election, and voters in Francis Howell would have had the opportunity to vote on Proposition S and three Directors for the FHSD Board of Education. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Mike Parson ordered all Missouri municipal elections scheduled on April 7 to be postponed until June 2. As a result, the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is extended to May 20. In-person absentee ballots may be cast in the Election Authority office until 5:00 PM on June 1. Absentee ballots sent by mail must be received by the Election Authority by 7:00 PM on June 2.

He succeeds current Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Nathan Hoven.  | FHSD Industrial Technology Teachers Using 3D Printers to Make a Difference Posted on 04/03/2020 Industrial technology teachers from across the District are using 3D printers to help fight the spread of COVID-19. Around the country, shortages of face masks, disposable gloves, and other medical supplies have been reported. To help provide for the healthcare workers on the frontline of the pandemic, Ricky Reeves (FHHS), Michael Green (FHN), and Don Barnes (FHC), are using the technology in their classrooms to make a difference.

 | FHSD Playgrounds and Outdoor Facilities Closed Posted on 04/01/2020 FHSD has closed all outdoor school facilities during the extended school closure. This means all playgrounds, tracks, fields, and basketball and tennis courts are off-limits. This decision was made in accordance with guidance from the Center for Disease Control and public health officials.
