The Francis Howell School District launched a Community Education Program at the beginning of the 2016-17 school year. The purpose of the program is to enrich the lives of FHSD citizens by providing quality, affordable educational opportunities and activities for the adults in our community.
The Community Education Program is paid for by participant registration fees.
2017 Spring Community Education Classes
Facebook 101 - March 27, 2017, 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Wanting to get started with Social Media via Facebook? This course will introduce participants to the Facebook platform by creating accounts, learning how to navigate the platform and learning how to find people and groups of interest. This session will also cover how to take proper security measures to ensure safe online participation. This course is being offered on two dates and is designed for beginners.
Canvas Painting - April 1, 2017, 9:00 AM -12:00 PM
Are you interested in learning to paint on canvas? This course will expose participants to a variety subject matters,
and then experiment with acrylic painting on canvas. Participants will
be able to choose from four landscapes to apply the learned techniques.
Lifesaver CPR - Date, Time, Location TBD (Registration Coming Soon)
In partnership with the St. Charles County Ambulance District Paramedics, FHSD will be offering Lifesaver CPR training. The course is designed to provide lay rescuers the fundamental skills and confidence to perform CPR on adult, children, or infants. This course will teach participants in how to recognize and alleviate airway obstructions, the proper use of an AED, and the signs, symptoms, and corrective action for a stroke or heart attack.
