Attendance and Earned Credit Policy
Education is a total process based upon ongoing communication and
shared responsibilities among parents, students, teachers and school.
The Board of Education believes that regular and punctual attendance of
each student enrolled in the District is essential to achieving success
in school. There is a direct relationship between attendance, grades and
success in school. Therefore, the Board has established reasonable
standards regarding absences with the purpose of encouraging and
supporting students to achieve the highest possible academic success.
Parent(s)/guardian(s) have a legal and moral responsibility to require
regular attendance at school.
It is imperative that students attend school daily. However, students should not attend school with any contagious or infectious disease. For more information and Francis Howell’s Attendance and Illness Guidelines, click here.
